Dear Maria: Life Goals in Love?

QUESTION:

Dear Maria,

It seems you have so much that’s going on for you lately. What’s your main goal by the time you reach 30 that you would have wanted to accomplish?

And what’s the opinion of the phrase “surrounding yourself with people like you?“ What does that mean to you?

ANSWER:

Hey Ci-Ci!!!!

OMG, the name took me out!!! Y’all are carrying, but back to business! This is the first question I answer on here that’s directly about me, how exciting! 

First and foremost I am so grateful to be in a place where doors are opening for me. I had been going through some rough times, although, no one could tell. I persevered by keeping faith that my time was coming and that I just needed to be patient. It’s hard to remain positive when you’re down, but damnit I did it! 

My main goal to accomplish by 30 is to establish my family! Not everyone knows, but I started the adoption process back in January 2019 and I took the assessments, etc. and realized I need to be much more focused on creating a life that could welcome a child. With that being said, realistically I consider that to be a dream as well as a goal. So wish me luck! 

Lastly, “Surround yourself with people like you?” Hmmmm…I say, surround yourself with people you want to be like. They say if you hang around 5 millionaires you will naturally become the 6th. It’s important to keep a close eye on your circle, make sure everyone is progressing, and making positive strides that will impact their lives for the better. Your team should be filled with people who not only support and uplift you, but show up for themselves as well.
