THE VERY BLACK PROJECT

Consider Very Black yours: a place for viewpoints, a place for dialogue, a place to connect, a place to be all of what we are. #veryblack

The Very Black Project isn't merely a t-shirt, but a consciousness movement absolutely. Established in 2014 in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, TVBP is the brainchild of late night “Kitchen talks” reflecting the very contemporary and, at times, very wounding experiences of artist/cancer survivor André D. Singleton and Art Director Justin Fulton. TVBP's aim is to encourage relatable dialogue around the vast experiences of people of African Descent all over the world, using the body as a vehicle for solidarity while asserting a very important social commentary. At its core Justin and André believe that to be #VERYBLACK is to be unapologetically proud of who we are in a world that furtively teaches us to hide from our stories, our heritage and our importance. It's a true practice in Self-love and healing as a collective and individually. All black lives, experiences and voices matter and are connected.
